Background

Dr. Gorden Videen received a Ph.D. in Optics at the University of Arizona in 1992 examining the effects of contaminants on mirrors. He spent nearly three years researching atmospheric aerosols in postdoctoral research at Dalhousie University in Halifax Canada, followed by two more years developing light-scattering theories for irregularly shaped aerosols and surface microstructures at New Mexico State University. He joined SSI in 2003. Dr. Videen has over 200 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals dealing with experimental, theoretical, and computational aspects of light scattering.
